This Shipping Policy applies to all orders placed on our website bolvivant.com. Its purpose is to inform our customers about the terms, lead times and costs of shipping our zootropes and accessories.

As our Products are handpainted artisanal objects, the total time before receiving your parcel is made up of the Processing Time (Manufacturing) and the Delivery Time (Transport).

Where can I be delivered?

All our orders are prepared and shipped from our workshop in Île-de-France (France). We deliver to the following areas:

  • Metropolitan France
  • French Overseas Territories (DOM-TOM)
  • Europe
    • European Union (EU): Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Netherlands, Austria.
    • Non-EU Europe: United Kingdom
  • International
    • North America: Canada, United States

What are the shipping costs?

Shipping costs are calculated based on the total weight of your order and its destination. The exact shipping cost is calculated automatically and displayed in your cart before final payment validation.

When will I receive my order?

Total receipt time is made up of the preparation time and the transport time provided by the carrier.

1. Processing Lead Time (Preparation): Orders are manufactured, prepared and shipped within 5 business days of payment confirmation.

2. Delivery Lead Times and Total Lead Time

The lead times below are expressed in business days and defined as follows:

  • Transport lead time: estimated transit time from the dispatch of your order.
  • Total lead time: includes processing time, manufacturing time and shipping logistics.

These lead times apply excluding customs processing, particularly for deliveries to the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.

How can I track my order?

As soon as your parcel is dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email containing a tracking number. This number allows you to track your order in real time on the carrier's website or via our dedicated tracking page. If your order shows no update 2 days after dispatch, please contact us at contact@bolvivant.com.

Are customs duties applicable?

For any order shipped outside the European Union, the Customer is considered the importer, unless otherwise stated below. Customs duties or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the Customer. For more information, please consult our Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Responsibility for taxes varies according to the destination area:

European Union (including France)
No customs duties apply. The price paid on the website is inclusive of all taxes (VAT included).

United Kingdom
In practice, for products of French origin, no customs duty generally applies thanks to the EU–United Kingdom trade agreement. Local VAT may however be claimed depending on the case.

United States
Import duties and taxes are settled in advance by the Seller, in accordance with current US regulations. No additional charges will be claimed from the Customer upon delivery.

Canada
The Customer is considered the official importer and is solely responsible for customs charges upon receipt. Upon arrival of the parcel in Canada, the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) assesses applicable duties and taxes. Canada Post will contact the Customer to collect the amounts due before or at the time of delivery. A handling fee of CA$9.95 is systematically added to each taxed parcel. Taxes vary according to the destination province (GST/HST/PST) and the nature of the products. As the de minimis threshold is CA$20, the vast majority of orders placed on our website will be subject to these charges. We recommend that you take this into account at the time of purchase.

Delivery problems

Damaged parcel or contents:

  • Visibly damaged parcel: we recommend that you refuse the parcel or make precise reservations on the delivery note (e.g. "Parcel opened", "Broken product").
  • Damaged contents: if the item is defective despite the box being intact, send us a claim within 3 business days to contact@bolvivant.com with photographs of the item and packaging. We will immediately open a dispute with the carrier to offer you a solution.

Address error: Please carefully check your delivery address. If the parcel is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by you, re-shipment costs will be charged to the customer.
